GROUNDWATER CONSERVATION CENTER (BKAT)


Legal basis :

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 34 of 2021 concerning Organization and Work Procedures of Technical Implementation Units within the Geological Agency.


The Ground Water Conservation Center is a technical implementation unit (UPT) within the Geological Agency which is under and directly responsible to the Head of the Center for Ground Water and Environmental Geology (PATGTL).

Duties of the Ground Water Conservation Center:

The Groundwater Conservation Center has the task of monitoring groundwater conditions and mitigating the impact of groundwater extraction on Groundwater Basins, as well as developing groundwater conservation technology.


Functions of the Ground Water Conservation Center:

​​​​​​​In carrying out its duties, the Ground Water Conservation Center carries out the following functions:


  • preparation of plans, programs and budgets, reports, implementation of cooperation and information management;
  • implementation of monitoring of groundwater conditions;
  • implementing mitigation measures for the impacts of groundwater extraction;
  • preparation of groundwater feasibility study approval materials;
  • preparation of technical recommendation materials for groundwater utilization and overcoming the impacts of groundwater extraction;
  • implementation of groundwater conservation technology development;
  • implementation of groundwater conservation evaluation;
  • management of technical facilities and infrastructure; And
  • implementation of administration, archives, personnel, finance and household.​​​​​​​
